The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner can carry about 250 passengers. This blog was viewed about 1,300 times in 2012. If it were a Dreamliner, it would take about 5 trips to carry that many people.
This was the first year of the first blog I’ve ever written. I read dozens, but I didn’t dive in to blogging myself until June 2012. I’ve meandered all over the place, which is a blogging no-no, but my life has been meandering this year, so that’s what I wrote.
It’s amazing to me how international blog readership can be. WordPress says that people from 32 countries have visited. It’d be more awesome if I had visited 32 countries last year, but still.
The search terms that landed people here are, um, interesting. Apparently, lots of people search “burner phones” and “the other woman.” I think we can safely assume that some people are searching these terms simultaneously. Jerks.
I hesitated to write about my car shopping experiences, but those posts were some of the most read. In the end, I’m glad I wrote about the frustration and reality of that mess. I love my new car and the so much better gas mileage it gets! In 2012, gas busted my budget. In 2013, it might be milk. (Have you heard about that insanity? If Congress doesn’t act — don’t hold your breath — milk could go up to $8 a gallon. It’d be cheaper to serve your kids wine or gas with meals. Just kidding, CPS. Sheesh.)
A sincere thank you for reading this blog. And a big hug to everyone who follows and/or comments. Some days are really long and lonely. I appreciate the kindness, support, and humor you’ve given me so freely this year.
Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2013!
